AND….I’m back!

Tax season ended a little over a month ago, and I’m just now getting back to ‘normal’ operations ‘round here. It was easily the most fun tax season I’ve ever had, and I would like to thank all my clients for making it such a memorable season. I only extended a few returns, and those should be out by the end of the month! Whew!

Checking in on the markets, I noticed l the Shiller P/E ratio for the S&P 500 closed at 29.26 on Friday, May 19th. Without comprehensive tax reform or a big uptick in GDP, the S&P 500 looks frothy to me.  I no longer expect tax reform to happen in 2017 – or any major upswing in GDP – so I’m cautions. Also, a Fed rate hike this summer may add to the volatility. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a correction during the upcoming months– stay safe!

In other news, I’ve been working on adding accounting and bookkeeping to the suite of services Chair Six Financial Planning, PLLC provides. I’m hoping for a mid to late June roll-out for these services, so stay tuned.

Oh, and now that tax season is over, I’ve been able to catch up on some light reading. I just finished Amy Cuddy’s wonderful book Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges. She provides a good discussion on impostor syndrome, nudging, and, of course, power poses. If you haven’t watched her Ted Talk, I highly recommend it.

Take care!
